At Wisselman Harounian Family Law, our commitment to serving families extends far beyond legal representation. For more than five decades, we have proudly supported and partnered with organizations that protect the vulnerable, uplift those in need, and strengthen the social fabric of our community. Giving back isn’t an add‑on — it’s part of who we are. Through service, sponsorship, and leadership, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients and the broader community we are proud to call home.
Supporting Survivors and Promoting Safety
We have a deep, ongoing commitment to victims of domestic violence and family abuse. Through our involvement with victims services agencies (The Safe Center Long Island, is sadly now closed) we provide pro bono legal support, volunteer time, and community advocacy to help survivors access protection, safety planning, and the resources they need to rebuild their lives. Our attorneys have been honored with multiple Pro Bono Champion of Justice awards for this work. Jacqueline Harounian was recognized as a “Humanitarian of the Year” in 2018 by UJA Federation for her working assisting victims of violence.
Fighting Cancer & Advocating for Health
Our firm proudly supports cancer‑related causes and health nonprofits. We are longtime sponsors and advocates for Sunrise Day Camp for Children with Cancer and the Mondays Cancer Care Foundation, organizations dedicated to providing invaluable services to children and adults impacted by serious illness. Our Managing Partner, Jacqueline Harounian, serves on the executive board of Mondays, helping expand access to care and community support.
Philanthropy and Partnerships
Wisselman Harounian Family Law contributes time, significant financial contributions, resources, and leadership to a wide range of charities and professional nonprofits, including Commonpoint Queens, Boy Scouts of America, Avon Breast Cancer Walk, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, United Jewish Appeal, Queens Chamber of Commerce, Brandeis Organization, JALBCA (Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert), Last Hope Animal Rescue, and more.
Legal Outreach & Professional Leadership
Our firm’s involvement also extends to legal education and professional volunteerism. Managing Partner Jacqueline Harounian serves on the executive board of both the Brandeis Bar Association and is a co‑chair of the Matrimonial and Family Law Committee of the New York State Women’s Bar Association. Our attorneys regularly lend their expertise to community workshops, panels, and nonprofit boards, bringing legal education and advocacy to diverse audiences.
